The scoring decided the winner before anyone opened a tool
Here is the part worth sitting with. The post states its own conclusion plainly: integration depth, not image quality alone, is the primary differentiator among professional tools. That is a defensible position. It is also the one category where Veras cannot lose, because Veras is a BIM plugin first and an image generator second. The data can be accurate and the ranking can still be a foregone conclusion. Those are two different questions.
How to actually read a post like this
You do not need to throw the post out. You need to read it in a different order than it was written. Vendor comparisons are written verdict-first: pick the category your product wins, then build the scorecard backward from that category. Reading it usefully means undoing that order.
Start with the five categories themselves, not the scores inside them. Pricing and learning curve each got a sentence or two per tool here, while the integration section ran long with specifics: seven platforms named, Geometry Override explained, the Nano Banana 2 engine credited by name. Length is itself a signal about where the post wants your eye.
Then do the substitution test. Take the same six tools and re-rank them assuming a different studio need, one the post did not choose to lead with. A firm doing three concept renders a month for early client pitches has a different winner than a firm producing forty construction-stage plates a week tied to a live Revit model. That is not a scandal, it is a structural fact about vendor content, and it applies to every "best tools compared" post published by a company that also sells a tool, on any subject, not just this one.
The fix is not to distrust the numbers. It is to separate the criteria from the winner before you read the verdict. Decide first what you actually need this quarter: full BIM integration because you render constantly, a cheap browser tool because you render twice a month, or raw visual punch because the deliverable is a pitch board nobody will hold against your model. Answer that, and the Chaos post becomes a useful spec sheet instead of a scoreboard. Skip that step and you have just let a vendor pick your winner for you, using real numbers, honestly reported, arranged to point one direction.
